"Love Letters to Myself"
"And some days I forget what it is to be gentle with myself--how to look at myself with kind eyes and speak to myself with soft words. Forget that I AM my home and a temple worthy of worship." --Becca Lee
Painted in rich shades of green, blue, and Payne's gray, with a touch of golden yellow, this piece is multi-layered and full of intrigue, compelling you to look closer. It started life completely intuitively, which is the way I start all of my abstract realism/surrealism work, with mark-making and a limited color palette. An added touch and nod to my love of fiber art is her beautifully textured shawl.
